How the Slits Are Cut
Every slit is a cut with an 8.5” radius, spaced 16–20” apart across the banner. Banners 2–3' wide get two rows of slits, while 4–5' wide banners get three. The slits have very little effect on how visible your image is.
Metal Grommets Every Foot
For the most secure installation, these banners have #2 nickel-plated metal grommets punched every 12” along both the top and the bottom edge. Each grommet measures about ¾” across and has a ¼” hole.
Welded Hems on All Four Edges
Our advanced finishing process forms heat-welded hems that attach seamlessly to the back of the banner on every edge. This added protection boosts both durability and performance.
How to Hang a Wind-Slit Banner
The best way to install your banner depends on how big it is:
Banners Up to 6 Feet Wide
At this size, it's usually enough to stretch the banner out and fasten each corner through its grommet. Any standard nylon string rated for outdoor use will work, or flexible bungee cords: anything roughly 3/16” in diameter is fine. If you're using something springy like bungees, always keep your own safety and the public's in mind, and wear safety glasses where it makes sense.
Banners 8 Feet Wide and Larger
Bigger banners usually need a little more care during installation so they last as long as possible outdoors. We suggest pulling aircraft cable or any other strong rope taut from one end of your structure to the other along both the top and bottom edges, leaving about a foot more than the banner's width. Once that line between the poles is in place, attach the banner to it through every grommet hole using nylon rope or something similar.
