What Comes With Your Pole Pocket Banner
Here's a breakdown of our pole pocket banners: the material, finishing options, printing and everything that's included.
Built to Last
- Printed on premium 18oz heavy-duty vinyl
- A three-layer build with a block-out core, so the banner lies flat
- Stands up to tearing, fading and fraying, even in rough weather
- The block-out layer keeps the front and back images from bleeding through
Pocket Choices
- Printed 4-inch pole pockets slide right into pole mounting brackets
- Our standard heat-welded pockets are practically invisible, for a clean, professional finish
- Opt for sewn pockets when you need extra heavy-duty strength in the wind
- Industrial UV-coated thread comes in a range of colors to match your design
Printing
- Full-color output on 6-color HP Latex technology
- High-resolution printing for crisp lettering and clean graphics
- Print on a single side or on both
- Single-sided banners print full-bleed, without a white border on any edge
- Eco-friendly, odor-free and non-tacky, with a smooth feel
Where They Work
- Made for light posts and lamp poles along roads and walkways
- Ideal for advertising, events, safety messages and showing community pride
- A favorite in the parking lots of malls, stadiums, hotels, campuses and event venues
- Single-sided versions suit walls, frames and parades
Corner Grommets
- One metal grommet set through the welded seam at each of the four corners
- The grommets strengthen the hem and help the banner last as long as possible
- Run zip ties through them so the banner won't slide around in the wind
- Black, silver or white grommets, all at no extra cost
Venting for Wind
- Add optional wind vents to ease the damaging stress strong winds can cause
- Pick straight or half-circle vents, whichever suits your artwork better
- Some towns and municipalities make wind vents mandatory on pole banners, so look up the rules where you are

Popular Ideas for Pole Pocket Banners
Our customers have come up with some creative pole banner designs and displays. Here are a few of them:
- Getting the word out about upcoming concerts
- Spreading holiday cheer with snowflake signs
- Marking a sports team's anniversary season
- Promoting a local farmers market
- Building awareness of safety
A popular approach is to line a road or path with a series of pole pocket banners, each printed with a different message. This kind of display makes a striking visual impact that people notice and remember.
Putting Parking Lot Light Posts to Work
Another frequent use is hanging pole pocket banners from the light posts of big parking lots. Lots at malls, stadiums, hotels, large companies, grocery stores, car lots, campuses and event venues usually have dozens of light posts, and pole banners turn them into space for marketing, promotions and advertising.
Welded or Sewn: Choosing Your Pole Pockets
Either finish gives you a secure pocket sleeve for mounting on a pole, so pick the one that suits your installation and the conditions it will face.
Heat-Sealed Pockets: Our Standard
Our standard heat-welded pockets are all but invisible, giving the banner a smooth, professional look. They perform well for indoor displays and for outdoor installations where the weather is mild to moderate. Welding quickly heats the vinyl until it melts and fuses the two pieces together, forming a secure pocket sleeve that won't tear or fray with normal use.
Sewn Pockets: Optional, Best for Wind
Sewing is a more involved process, but it pays off if your banners will hang in windy conditions. Our professional-grade stitching gives outdoor installations the extra heavy-duty performance they need.
The optional stitching is visible against the printed banner, but we offer industrial UV-coated thread in a range of colors so it can match your design.
Pole Pocket Banners Printed on One Side
When a banner has pocket sleeves for pole mounting, rigid rods slide inside and spread its weight evenly. Pockets on opposite ends can make the banner look rigid, so it hangs flatter and tighter. That keeps it from sagging and makes it easier to display and to see.
Our single-sided pocket banners have no white borders on any edge, because our process uses the entire surface of the front vinyl to print high-resolution, full-bleed graphics.
Single-sided pole pocket banners are the usual pick when people only need to see them from one direction. Common spots include walls, dedicated frames or stands, one-way streets, parades and marching bands.
