Printing Specs for Finish Line Banners
Most start and finish line banners are free-standing and stretch across the course, road, sidewalk or trail beneath them. Here's what goes into ours:
Tough Material Made for the Outdoors
We print on 18oz blockout layered vinyl, and there are several good reasons why. Because the material is so thick, double-sided printing (something many customers ask for) won't show through from one face to the other. It's also highly durable, so sun, wind and weather won't make it fade, rip or wear out before its time. Even so, it stays light enough to carry, put up and take down without any trouble.
Available Sizes
Choose a height of 2 to 3 feet and a width of 16 to 24 feet. Looking for a custom size? Give us a call and we'll put together a quote for you.
Color and Artwork
Any color or mix of colors is possible, and we can reproduce images at every level of quality, all the way up to photographic. Thanks to our advanced printing technology, there's hardly a request we can't handle.
Finishing Extras
If you need them, we'll add hemmed pockets for mounting on poles, along with any grommets your installation calls for. You may also want to look at our rope banners, a low-cost option that gives extra security and support to any free-standing banner with traffic moving close by or underneath.
Answers for Race Organizers
Thinking about ordering a finish line banner? These are a few of the questions and requests we hear most often:
Can our banner design include custom logos and artwork from several sponsors?
Of course! Just check that the banner has room for every image you plan to include; there's usually more than enough space. And don't leave out your race logo or that classic checkerboard pattern!
Does a finish line banner need wind slits?
Not at the sizes we offer. These banners simply don't have enough surface area to gain anything from extra airflow. Unless the weather turns extreme enough that the race would normally be called off, your banner will do just fine without wind slits.
Do you sell the hardware for putting up a finish line banner?
We leave installation hardware out of our orders so we can keep printing and shipping costs as low as possible. Our banners are made to work with most finish line setups as well as do-it-yourself installs.
